ABC pentru succes
3181 students from 16 counties participated in career education activities within 769 non-formal education workshops. Through them, students had the opportunity to get to know each other better, to identify their interests and skills. They gained knowledge about various professional fields and learned how to make informed decisions regarding their careers.
As part of the project, we created a guide for school counselor teachers and 2 workbooks for middle school and high school students.
Within the framework of the "ABC for Success" project, we proposed developing and implementing a career education program intended for students aged 14 to 19. The program would facilitate the exploration of personal resources and the development of the skills necessary for an objective career choice.
In a previous edition of the project, two workbooks for students and an activity guide for school counselors and head teachers were created, structured in two modules: self-knowledge and career planning.
In the 4th edition of the project, carried out in 16 counties, in the 2023-2024 school year, 3181 students participated in career education activities within 769 non-formal education workshops. These activities were implemented by 62 school counselors from 16 County Educational Resource and Assistance Centers in the country, with which partnership agreements were signed: Alba, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița Năsăud, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Călărași, Gorj, Hunedoara, Mehedinți, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Tulcea, Vrancea.
Our motivation for initiating this project comes from the desire to contribute to forming a generation of young people who are better prepared and more confident in their professional choices.
The workshops were structured as follows:
Module I – Self-knowledge for grades 7 and 11.
Topics: identifying one's own personality traits, values, types of intelligence and roles within a team.
Module II – Career planning for grades 8 and 12.
Topics: interests and aptitudes, developing assertive communication skills, decision-making and assuming responsibilities (decision-making styles and developing rational capacity for decision-making), personal marketing, time management, creating a career plan (purpose, objectives and career opportunities).
Main focus
The career education workshops were conducted by school counselor teachers from across the country. The delivery of the sessions was practical, non-formal, based on the students' actual work and their direct involvement.
