OECD Career Readiness Webinar
Students in the Workplace: Why it matters for their career development and how schools can maximise the benefits of internships, volunteering and part-time work
Many students in full-time general secondary education spend time in workplaces, working in part-time jobs, volunteering in the community or doing internships/work experience placements. This webinar summarises results from dozens of longitudinal studies which overwhelmingly identify long-term employment benefits for young adults related to their teenage workplace experiences . It explores why positive outcomes can be expected and how schools can maximise benefits, and reduce risks, to young people – and shares PISA data on how student participation varies around the world and within countries.
Join the webinar to explore the importance of some of the most important (and demanding) activities that students can do as they prepare for working life – and ask the OECD Career Readiness team your questions about student workplace experience.
