The European Education Area (EEA) strategic framework was put in place to structure collaboration between European Union (EU) Member States and key stakeholders to achieve their collective vision. Seven targets have been pointed out for 2025 and 2030, to fully realise the European Education Area.

Guidance contributes to the EEA strategic framework targets by helping learners of all ages make informed choices, stay engaged in education, and access the right opportunities. It supports early intervention to reduce school leaving, promotes participation in VET, higher and adult learning, and strengthens digital and basic skills. By offering tailored advice, mentoring, and pathways, guidance ensures that education systems are more inclusive, flexible, and effective—directly advancing the EEA’s goals for equity, quality, and lifelong learning.
