Euroguidance Network Webinar: Inclusive career guidance - Theory and practice
Euroguidance Network Webinar: Inclusive career guidance - Theory and practice
This webinar consists of two parts that will look into inclusivity in guidance. You will be shared both research-based insights and practical tools.
1. Inclusive Career Guidance - Three perspectives
Inclusivity in career guidance can mean at least three different things: who has access to career guidance and on what terms, how guidance practices include or exclude participants operating from different positions and with different capabilities, and how career guidance can promote wider societal inclusion. This presentation will explore all three questions with research perspectives, practical examples, a little philosophy, and a few more or less relevant quotes.
Speaker: Jarkko Immonen is a PhD Researcher and a member of the Social Differences and Inequality in Education and Career Guidance research group at the University of Eastern Finland. Immonen also works as a career counsellor at the University of Helsinki.
2. Practical Tools for Career Planning with Students with Special Educational Needs
This session introduces practical strategies and tools that support career planning for students with special educational needs. Participants will explore adaptable methods, visual aids, and hands-on activities that foster self-awareness, motivation, and informed career choices. The session is designed for practitioners who aim to provide inclusive and individualised career guidance.
Speaker: Ieva Kuginyte-Arlauskiene is an Associate Professor (PhD) at the University of South-Eastern Norway (Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge). She collaborates with Vilnius University and Mykolas Romeris University in Lithuania and serves as the Euroguidance Ambassador for Lithuania, promoting guidance and counselling in a European context. Her research interests lie in inclusive education policy and practice, support systems in education, and the development of inclusive learning environments.
