A flexible, professionally recognised route into career guidance

The International Centre for Guidance Studies (iCeGS) at the University of Derby, United Kingdom, is launching a new course, the Postgraduate Certificate in Career Guidance, which may be of interest if you are considering further study.  This course offers a flexible, fully online route into the profession, or an opportunity to deepen existing expertise. Delivered by iCeGS, an internationally recognised centre for research and teaching in career development, the course provides a strong grounding in theory and practice, alongside opportunities to apply learning within your own professional context.  Students are also able to apply for Registered Career Development Practitioner (RCDP) status with the UK’s Career Development Institute.  Key features of the course include:

•  Postgraduate qualification at Level 7

• Fully online delivery, designed to fit alongside work and other commitments
• Teaching by experienced academics and qualified careers professionals
• Practice-focused learning, with application to participants’ own contexts
• Three 20-credit modules: Career Development Theory; Personal Career Guidance Practice; and The Identity of the Career Guidance Practitioner
• Opportunity to progress to a full Master’s degree using the 60 credits achieved
