EU-level seminar - The Shift to Learning Outcomes: Rhetoric or Reality?
EU-level seminar - The Shift to Learning Outcomes: Rhetoric or Reality?
PPMI is pleased invite to an EU-level seminar, part of the Cedefop study The Shift to Learning Outcomes: Rhetoric or Reality?
The workshop will take place online on 7 May, from 09:30 to 13:00 CET.
Over the years, increasing evidence has demonstrated that learning outcomes are increasingly embedded within national qualifications frameworks, curricula, and assessment criteria in initial vocational education and training (IVET) systems across the EU. However, their direct impact on teaching, learning, and assessment needs further investigation. This study seeks to bridge this gap and, in addition to focusing on changes at the policy level, examines how learning outcomes are applied in practice during teacher training, school- and work-based learning, and assessment practices in 10 selected Member States (Bulgaria, Finland, France, Ireland, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Slovenia).
The workshop will provide a platform to present and discuss key findings from the project. It includes two interactive sessions in breakout rooms, during which participants will reflect on the factors influencing the shift towards using a learning outcome approach and identify challenges and opportunities for improving it. The aim is to inform actionable recommendations for stakeholders at various levels across the EU. The draft agenda is attached, and additional information will be shared in the coming days.
