In June 2016, the European Commission published the New Skills Agenda for Europe which is was package of measures to face concrete skills problems identified in Europe and to revise a number of existing European tools (e.g. Europass, European Qualifications Framework)

The new European Skills Agenda was announced on 1 July 2020. Its main aim was to ensure that the right to training and lifelong learning, becomes a reality across Europe.
