ONE STOP SHOP

The Euroguidance Centre of North Macedonia organised a series of workshops that focused on the One-Stop-Shop concept. The concept involved the Ministry of Labour and Economy, the Ministry of Social Policy, Demography and Youth and the Employment Agency. Numerous youth non-governmental organisations were also involved which included the National youth council, Coalition of youth organisation SEGA, CMA Krik, Pro local, FRLZ Shtip, Hera, Union for youth work and Sfera international.
The goal was to create a clear plan for how the one-stop shop should work and which staff from other organisations should be involved.
The One-Stop-Shop concept envisions the establishment of a youth centre in each municipality, where young people will be able to access a range of services free of charge. These services include career guidance and counselling, support from social workers, mental health services, as well as healthcare services provided by a doctor and a nurse, among others, depending on the municipality.
This initiative is a significant step forward for our country and marks substantial progress in the development of career guidance and counselling services. The One-Stop-Shop is a pilot project which will be launched in five municipalities in 2026. There are further plans for gradual expansion to additional municipalities after 2026.
The workshops focused on defining the operational model of the centres, the competencies required of the professionals involved, and the methodologies through which services should be delivered to young people in an accessible and free-of-charge manner.
The next workshop is planned for the beginning of April. It will include all the youth centres, the Agency for Employment, the Euroguidance Centre, the European Training Foundation (ETF), and an international expert. During this session, we will work on developing the programme for staff working in the one-stop shop centre. We will also discuss what qualifications and skills are needed to work in the one-stop shop.
