YouthPioneer project’s Training & Mentoring Model (YPTM)
The YouthPioneer project focuses on supporting NEETs through training, mentoring, and work-based learning to enhance employability and entrepreneurial skills.
The YouthPioneer Training & Mentoring Model (YPTM) is an innovative practice designed to enhance the employability of young people not in employment, education, or training (NEETs). It combines training, mentoring, and work-based learning to support the development of soft, entrepreneurial, and career management skills.
The model is based on a collaborative and multi-actor approach, engaging training providers, employers, and stakeholders. Participants receive structured training in project design and entrepreneurship, which they apply in real work-based learning environments by developing project ideas that address real organisational needs.
Following the training and work-based experience, participants benefit from mentoring and career guidance. The practice also includes tools such as a skills assessment framework and a handbook for effective pitching.
This integrated approach supports young people in gaining practical experience, building confidence, and facilitating their transition into the labour market.
